Things I won’t miss in the aftermath of the financial crisis

There are many things that may go away or decline as a result of the credit crunch.  If the following are some of those things, I will be very happy:

  • Ever-increasing rents in New York and other American cities
  • Luxury condo buildings
  • Overpriced pan-Asian and new American restaurants
  • Overpriced wine bars
  • Travel writing, especially luxury travel
  • Articles about how X neighborhood is the new Y neighborhood
  • Sub-divisions
  • Stretch hummers

Please comment with other suggestions.  This is by no means a complete list!

You know what I will be glad to be rid of even more than stretch hummers? Stretch hummers full of squealing 13 year old girls and the dim-witted parents that think renting one for a birthday party is a worthwhile use of money.

yo, whatever alicia, i had one for my sweet sixteen
