super, in-depth article!
when i was in elementary school in winnetka, il, in the 1960s, elementary schools there had no grades, but rather some other kind of assessment. winnetka schools, particularly crow island, were very progressive. wonder if any of those old-time innovators are still around?
the Consortium students and their projects are super-impressive ~ as are their college-entry and retention stats!
thanks so much for reading! i’m glad you liked it. yeah, testing has really become the relied-upon assessment method nationwide. it is kind of amazing how uniform it has made education, in a way.
