As both a full-time and freelance content creator and strategist, I worked with NYU Langone Health, including collaborations with the media, marketing, and design teams, and a full-time role leading marketing and communications for NYU’s Department of Population Health.

Campus Transformation

I collaborated with NYU Langone’s marketing and PR team to publicize the transformation of the NYU Langone Health campus, including a new children’s hospital, a state-of-the-art science building, an art program, and upgraded patient amenities and technology. My role focused on translating the architectural and structural upgrades into clear, patient-centered benefits that we shared with media, along with patients and the wider New York City community.

Content Strategy

While working as the communications manager for population health at NYU Langone, I developed a communications and content strategy, working with department leadership and teams of creative, marketing, and PR professionals at the medical center and externally to develop brand visuals, presentations, and a report, media campaigns, and web and newsletter refreshes, along with launching a social media presence.

Website

A redesigned Department of Population Health website included an updated information architecture and updating and writing new copy on educational, research, community, and clinical programs.

Report

The Department of Population Health’s five-year report involved setting up interviews, identifying visual assets, and working with in-house and external design and editorial teams and many departmental stakeholders to produce a valuable content piece.

Media

Working in partnership with NYU Lagone’s dogged media team and outside PR firm for special projects, we earned media in the New York Times, NPR, Politico, the Wall Street Journal, and many other local and international outlets for stories about everything from community health programs aimed at increasing heath equity to clinical treatment for opioid addiction to celebrities’ marketing of junk food.

Events

I worked with a team of department leadership and a marketing team to launch the department’s signature “Health And” conference, a convening to help showcase health’s intersection with other societal issues, like housing, climate, and racial equity, and play on the department’s goal to take health beyond the hospital.

I worked with Population Health leadership, NYU’s creative team, and a production agency to help write the script, source assets, and develop the visual concept for an explainer video about population health, breaking down complex ideas to get to the heart of how the healthcare system marries its community health work with patient data collection and analysis.
